reimagining dance training for a new generation
How do I book a trial class?
You can book a paid Two-Class Trial Week directly through our website by clicking on the pink “Book My Trial” button. We’ll be in touch to confirm your child’s spot and answer any questions.
Can we join mid-term or only at certain times of year?
You can join anytime! We operate on a rolling monthly subscription model, so there’s no need to wait for a new term to begin.
Do I need to pay anything to attend a trial?
Yes. It costs £30 for a two-class trial week. This allows you to experience how a regular week runs. Then if you decide to join us, we'll deduct the trial fee from your first month.
What age groups do you teach?
We currently offer classes for kids aged 7–11 and 12–16.
Adult (18+) Shway-Style classes are also now running. If interested please enquire via email to: hello@bevividlyyou.com.
Teacher training in our methods will follow later in the year. If you are interested in these please join our mailing list so we can keep you updated.
What does a typical class include?
Students attend two x one hour classes each week:
Do students need prior dance experience?
Not at all. Our classes are open to beginners and experienced dancers alike. What matters most is curiosity and a willingness to explore.
What should my child wear to class?
Comfy clothes they can move in—no uniform required. Think leggings, joggers, T-shirts, or hoodies. Trainers or soft-soled shoes are ideal.
How much does it cost per month?
Classes work out to approximately £15 per session, with the requirement of a commitment to 2 classes per week.
The monthly subscription works out to £120/month and includes 2 weekly classes and access to 44+ weeks of training per year.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
Yes! Just drop us a message and we’ll apply it for you.
Note: Sibling discounts only apply to the full fee subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription?
We ask for one month’s notice if you ever need to cancel. This helps us offer your spot to another family and keep things flowing smoothly.
Are refunds available if we miss a class?
Our monthly fee is based on annual class provision and already factors in holiday closures. Missed classes aren’t refundable, but your spot is always held.
Where are classes held?
In our cosy home-based garden studio in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Directions and info are sent once your trial is confirmed.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes—there is local street parking and a car park nearby. We’ll advise on best access depending on light and time of day.
What if my child is shy, sensitive, neurodivergent or nervous about joining?
We totally understand. Our classes are intentionally small, warm, and non-judgmental. We’ll gently support your child at their own pace. Many of our students thrive here because we honour diverse needs, personalities, and learning styles. Let us know anything we should be aware of using the short 'About My Kid' form.
Can I stay and watch? The studio does not have space for all parents to sit in each week. We gently encourage independence, but you’re welcome to stay nearby or peek in if your child needs reassurance.
Do we need to confirm anything after the trial? We’ll send a short follow-up and booking info after the second session. No pressure—just an invitation.
What makes VEA different from other dance schools?
We centre expression over perfection, community over competition, and self-trust over external approval. We’re here to support the whole child—not just train dancers.
Do you offer performance opportunities?
Whilst preparing for an end of term performance is not our focus, each 12-week block ends with “Scenes” —an opportunity to share what we’ve been working on. Please note however that these are informal, optional, and joy-led. Students are not required to perform.
Is this suitable for neurodivergent kids or those who’ve had bad past experiences?
Absolutely. Many of our dancers (and our founder!) are neurodivergent. We work gently, flexibly, and with full respect for each dancer’s needs.
Do you offer bursaries or financial support?
We offer up to 2 bursary places per class group (partial or full), or up to 2 skill-swap places. Just reach out to discuss—requests are handled with respect and care.
What if we can’t commit to 2 classes a week?
Our programme is designed as a 2-class experience, but if this is a barrier, get in touch via email: hello@bevividlyyou.com. We’re open to creating solutions where possible.
How do your holiday breaks work?
We run classes for 44 weeks per year, with 4–8 planned break weeks (e.g. Christmas and flexi-weeks). These are built into your monthly rate and shared in advance.
Still have a question? Reach out anytime via email hello@bevividlyyou.com. We’d love to hear from you!
